OANN’s Neil McCabe Talks to Leahy About How the Impeachment is Playing Out in the Washington Bubble

On Tuesday’s Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 am to 8:00 am – Leahy talked to Washington correspondent of One America News Network, Neil McCabe about whether or not President Trump and the Republicans will get due process.

In the third segment, Leahy goes on to question McCabe and his thoughts about the recent Hunter Biden ‘victim’ interview on Good Morning America.

Leahy: We are joined now by Neil McCabe with One America News Network. The Washington correspondent. More craziness in Washington Neil. Impeachment! Impeachment! Impeachment! It’s not first hand. It’s not second hand. It’s not third hand. It’s not fourth hand. I think it’s like fifth hand this report today about what John Bolton supposedly said.

But it came via a leak reported in The Hill. Reported in The New York Times. A staffer on Adam Schiff that his House Intelligence Committee said that this is something Fiona Hill, former White House employee said John Bolton told her. Of course, it must be true. What do you say, Neil?

McCabe: Well maybe it is true. But people in factions in the White House talking about each other in disparaging terms. I’m sure it’s gone on in every workplace. I was on a coast guard ship for three years. I worked in newspapers. I’ve worked at McDonald’s. It’s like there are always factions where people talk in the break room. I don’t know if it means that people need to overturn a Presidential election over it.

Leahy: (Chuckles) It must. It must.

McCabe: Remember, Fiona Hill left and John Bolton left and it was acrimonious this past summer.

Leahy: Yeah.

McCabe: And so hey, yeah, there’s a drug deal. I blame these guys. I hate them. They’re so mean to me. Please impeach the President.

Leahy: Yeah really.

McCabe: He fired me and I want him impeached.

Leahy: Not exactly unbiased wouldn’t you say?

McCabe: Well what are you going to do? It’s like a lot of times we talk about disgruntled employees. Well, that doesn’t happen at the White House? We remember that Barack Obama had four Secretary’s of Defense and each one of them wrote either a book or a lengthy magazine article.

It was three books and one lengthy magazine article about how horrible a President he was. How he never listened to me and how the place was a zoo. If they had those thoughts at the time would it have been worthy of impeachment? I don’t know. Some of us hope so. (Leahy laughs)

McCabe: You always wonder when these books come out. Well, why didn’t you say something then?

Leahy: So here’s my question to you about the Democrats. Do they realize, do they lack self-awareness of how the fact that they’re holding all these hearings behind closed doors. They just kicked out a Republican attorney from one such hearing. And then they’re leaking the narrative the way they want it to read. Do they realize how bad that’s playing in the heartland?

McCabe: No. Because inside the bubble of Washington media, this is playing great. You’re old enough to remember when Second City television was on the air at the same time Saturday Night Live was on the air. And guys from Second City television would play on Saturday Night Live and it was different.

And they didn’t understand why some jokes worked and some jokes didn’t. And the reason they said was that because Saturday Night Live plays before a live audience and the live audience is reacting to things that don’t play well on TV. So things that are funny in the room aren’t funny when you’re watching it on TV. And this is what’s happening.

Things are playing great in the room. It’s like everyone is just cackling like a fool. But out in the heartland people are going like, ‘Hold on.’ It’s like two years ago. It’s like basically telling the American people, ‘You voted for Trump because the Russians fooled you. You’re an idiot. The Russians brainwashed you.’ And people are saying I actually I didn’t know Russians supported gun rights and wanted to end abortion. I guess. I don’t know.

Leahy: So this thing is going on and on and on. It’s been done as the President’s lawyer said it very well. It’s an unconstitutional violation of his due process rights. It’s the first time we’ve held an impeachment of anyone including a President in which the impeachment proceedings did not begin with a full vote of the House.

And that’s because they want to keep it secret and they don’t want to have it go through the judiciary and have open hearings. They want to try and control the narrative. Do you think Neil, that there will ever be a vote to actually formerly begin impeachment proceedings?

McCabe: Oh absolutely. There will be an impeachment vote before the end of the year.

Leahy: Let me ask you this. But will there be a vote to impeach but will it come without a prior vote to formerly hold hearings? Will they just go from an inquiry?

McCabe: This is my information from inside the Pelosi staff bubble. They are very much aware that if they go forward with a formal inquiry for impeachment the Republicans will be allowed to subpoena witnesses and documents. And they will also be allowed to hire staff such as their own investigators and their own lawyers just as Nixon had and Clinton had.

And they are desperately trying to move this ball as far downfield as they possibly can before they give the Republicans a bite of the apple. What’s different about this impeachment fight compared to say Nixon or Clinton is that because of all the shenanigans that the Democrats and the Justice Department and the FBI and the FISA court, all of that stuff means that the Republicans can go on offense. Whereas Nixon and Clinton were just strictly on defense.

Leahy: So do they give Republicans this fair shot ever?

McCabe: Eventually they will.

Leahy: They will?

McCabe: But you know they have to finish this Mike before the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. Because you can’t have a Presidential campaign where you’re trying to take down the President where the face of your party is the Speaker of the House from San Francisco and not one of your Presidential candidates.

Leahy: How do they do that in a way that is fair to the President given this timeline? Given the fact that we’re October 15th?

McCabe: No no. Mike, Mike, Mike. (Leahy laughs) Silly. You do not have to be fair to this President. You and I both know the great Neil Monroe when he was at Daily Caller and he dared to interrupt Barack Obama when he was winding up for one of his 40-minute answers. It’s like Neil Monroe dared to interrupt President Obama.

It’s the one time it ever happened in eight years. I thought they were going to hang the man. This President is interrupted. They shout at him. It’s like you can be rude to him. It’s like no one cares. And so that’s just the way it goes. Hey, do we have time for me to plug my special on Saturday and Sunday?

Leahy: Yeah sure.

McCabe: So, this Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm in the East and it’s going to be 11 am in the West and 10 am CST. I am having an interview with Peter Schweizer where he talks about Ukraine. He talks about China. It’s a deep dive into the Biden family and how they co-mingled public trust and family gain.

And we flew down to Tallahassee, Florida where Peter has the Government Accountability Institute. It’s really fantastic. A lot of times you feel weird watching your own stuff. I actually enjoyed this one and I think people are going to get a lot out of it.

Leahy: Peter Schweizer, of course, wrote the book Clinton Cash followed by Secret Empires and the story of the public corruption. Neil, can you hang through the break. I have a lot of follow up questions on that.

(Commercial break)

Leahy: So Hunter Biden, such a poor little victim he is. And so the story goes. His daddio is Vice President and he, Hunter gets a deal to be on the board of Burisma. It’s a big Ukranian natural gas company. He doesn’t know anything about natural gas but they pay him between 50,000 and 80,000 just to be on the board.

Oh, by the way, two weeks earlier, daddio had been named the point person for Ukraine and the Attorney General in Ukraine is investigating corruption in Burimsa. And then daddio says, ‘Oh President of Ukraine. Fire that prosecutor or you’re not getting a billion dollars of US money.’

And six hours later, Joe Biden says on tape the guys fired. And Hunter Biden does this sad sack, I’ma victim and I haven’t even gotten into China yet. We have a clip. Listen to the clip here of poor little victim Hunter Biden paid 50,000 to 80,000 for being the son of a Vice President.
